Meet Erin Ragsdale, Founder & CEO
From Working Class Roots to Wall Street Wake-Up Call
Growing up in a working-class family, Erin learned early on that the people who needed financial help the most were the ones the system ignored completely. While climbing the wealth management ladder from Fidelity Investments to Merrill Lynch to JP Morgan, she watched this painful reality play out daily. Dozens and dozens of people desperate for guidance were turned away because they didn't meet account minimums, while wealthy clients received incredible resources they often took for granted. After pioneering multi-generational engagement strategies that boosted client retention from 30% to 75%, she realized she'd found solutions that could help everyone—if only the industry cared about everyone.
The Research That Changed Everything
Never one for accepting the status quo, Erin dove deep into America's wealth gap and what she found was heartbreaking: 141 million households systematically excluded from not just quality financial planning but access to basic financial literacy. Not because they didn't work hard enough, but because the system was never designed to serve them profitably. Armed with professional credentials and a growing frustration with an industry that prioritized profit over people, she made a radical decision: leave the comfort of a traditional wealth management career to build something that actually served the families who reminded her of the community she grew up in.
Fighting for Financial Democracy
Today, Erin is channeling everything she learned about fiduciary standards, multi-generational financial planning, and family governance into Rising Tide because she knows firsthand that zip codes and account balances shouldn't determine the quality of financial advice you receive. Her mission is personal: ensure that everyone has equal access to the same level of fiduciary level financial information and education to make their own decisions. When she's not working on democratizing our financial system, she's probably rescuing cats and dogs, cooking incredibly complex dinners with 7 different pans, and spending as much time as possible with her fantastic husband and step-daughters.
